Ways To Make Your Bathtub More Comfortable

Some walk in tubs can be very comfortable. However, if you do not feel comfortable enough in your walk in tub, there are a lot of things that can be done to improve the comfort of your tub.

Inflatable Pillows

One option is to purchase inflatable pillows designed for bathtubs. These come with suction cups that allow the pillows to stick to the sides of the tub so that they can remain in place. If your head is often uncomfortable when laying it against the side of the tub, one option is to purchase a wet wash cloth that can be placed on the edge.

Chairs And Stools

Another option is to purchase a full body bathtub lounge chair. By purchasing a chair, you will be able to test it to determine if you find it comfortable. The chair is a great option for those who are concerned about slipping in the bathtub because it will provide you with something else to grab onto. Another place to look for a waterproof chair is a pool supply store, which often sells inflatable chairs and inflatable rafts. These can make the experience of taking a bath more fun because it will be like a day at the pool. Small plastic stools are also preferred by some because they are smaller, easier to move and can be put exactly in the position you want to use it.

A Yoga Mat

The bathtub can be made more comfortable by lining a portion of the bathtub with a yoga mat. Cut the pieces so that you can fit them back together in a manner that lines various parts of the tub. Use double-sided tape to hold the yoga mat bathtub liner together. The yoga mat can also help you avoid slipping.

A Bed Wedge

Visit a medical disability supply store. They often have different products that can make bathtubs easier and safer to use. One option is a bed wedge. These are made using foam and can also be used as a bath wedge to help you sit up. Make sure that the wedge has a waterproof covering so that it does not get wet.

Waterproof Pillow Massager

To get really comfortable, there are waterproof massage pillows designed for the bath. Using waterproof controls, the pillow will provide you with a massage and help loosen tension. The warm water serves as a lubricant that will make the massage more effective.

Talk to a tub dealer, like Twin City Stair Lifts, for more help.
